I haven’t really posted any thoughts, in well, a really long time. Anyways, a recent conversation sparked a thought. The thought was about the whole “if our relationship was meant to be, we’ll find each other down the road” mindset. I can honestly say that it is these hopeless-romantic mindsets that set many up for heartbreak. These mindsets are based on a concept called “Fate” and in this sense, “fate” is complete belief or faith in a predetermined life-path that we all have and inevitably follow. In my humble opinion, fate is bull$#!t. I don’t see how people can rely on fate when living their lives. To me, living this way is extremely passive. How can people just wait and rely on fate for opportunities and experiences? To me, I see every day as an opportunity to do something worthwhile. I think that people should actively ACT on opportunities rather than allowing “fate” to determine your day. Take the wheel of your lives folks! Take back control of your destinies. Your destinies, futures, dreams, and aspirations can only be met if YOU make the effort to meet them. Don’t let this concept of fate rule what your future is. Empower yourself! If you still are a believer in “Fate”, then just think of it this way, fate only works if you act on the opportunities that are given to you each day. GET OUT THERE AND BE! be good, be outgoing, be opportunity-seeking, be actively acting upon your own life.
